Hey there! Welcome to blufruit.

I'm Charlotte-Mary, the designer, maker and seller behind blufruit clothing.

blufruit is: Colourful, kitsch and quirky, quality upcycled, handmade and vintage clothing, accessories and small items, made and sourced in Brighton, England, U.K.

After graduating from university with a B.A.(Hons) degree in Fashion, I made and sold upcycled clothing on my little market stall in Camden, North London for 5 years (under the name 'Scarlett Charlett Clothing'), before moving to the beautiful city of Brighton and Hove, to live by the seaside with my husband, our beautiful baby girl, and our two cheeky cats!

From experience in pattern-cutting to designing and sewing and even working in other industries, I discovered my passion for specifically 'upcycled fashion' and decided to pursue it through blufruit, as well as running a local alterations business.

blufruit has become an outlet for my creativity, and I thoroughly enjoy playing around with design ideas, using lots of different and interesting fabrics, and making what I aim to be great quality garments that can be worn by a variety of people, who just like their fashion to be something unique.. something that is made fairly in the U.K! And by an independent slow fashion designer like myself! rather than a big corporation.

Partly driven by wanting to reduce the environmental impact of what I create and partly because I just love doing it! I hope you enjoy these one-of-a-kind upcycled designs and and I strive to create pieces that simply make their wearer feel good and express their unique style at the same time.
